from kick-off

£2,400
per month for 20 hours

We will design and build a standalone Magento 2 store for your lubricants range in 25.2 days for £20,790 + VAT, go live six to eight weeks from kick-off, and then host and maintain it.

Develo is a specialist Magento agency based in Birmingham, trusted for over 15 years by brands including Currys, BrandAlley, Leon Paul and Vax. Our team covers development, UI/UX design, SEO, conversion optimisation and analytics.

This proposal is narrower than our earlier proposal for your main website. It covers one store for lubricants, built on the Hyvä front end, at the same £110 per hour rate.

Your requirements

Your lubricants range on its own store, separate from your main website.

The new store needs:

  • A standalone Magento 2 store dedicated to lubricants
  • Product and category data exported from the current third-party-owned website and imported into the new store
  • A new design, built on the Hyvä front end
  • Shipping rates calculated from product weights through ShipperHQ, so a 180kg barrel and a 100g tube are charged correctly
  • A private, restricted login for managing products, using a Magento admin role limited by access control list (ACL)
  • Managed hosting and ongoing maintenance after launch
Section 2

What we will deliver

Proposed solution

Magento 2 Open Source with Hyvä, on hosting we manage.

We recommend Magento 2 Open Source with the Hyvä front end, on managed Hypernode hosting run by Develo.

Magento 2 Open Source

No licence fee, and full control of the catalogue, content and admin permissions.

Hyvä

A mobile-first Magento front end built for speed. It is now free and open source, so there is no theme licence to buy.

ShipperHQ

Plugs into Magento's checkout and calculates live rates from each basket's weight.

Magento's built-in ACL

Lets us create a product-only admin role, so nominated third-party staff can manage the range without access to orders, customers or configuration.

Proposed solution

Customers, your data and ShipperHQ all connect to one Magento store.

Customers shop on the Hyvä storefront, ShipperHQ prices each basket from the imported weights, and nominated third-party staff manage products through their own restricted login.

Scope of work

17 of the 25.2 days go on your data and the store build.

1. Data export and import · 2 days

  • Export lubricants products, categories, attributes and images from the current website
  • Map and clean the data into Magento's product and category structure
  • Import into the new store, plus one refresh import shortly before launch

2. Site design and build · 15 days

  • Designs for the homepage, category page and product page, on desktop and mobile
  • Hyvä theme build to the signed-off designs
  • Category navigation, layered filters (brand, type, pack size) and site search
  • Customer account, basket and checkout, with payment gateway setup
  • Core CMS pages: about, contact, delivery, terms and privacy
  • Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager tracking
Scope of work

Setup, go-live and QA take the remaining 8.2 days.

3. Setup, go-live and miscellaneous · 4 days

  • Setup: project kick-off, hosting and staging environments, and transactional emails
  • ShipperHQ shipping weights: install and configure the extension, load weights per product and set carrier rules for heavy and bulky items
  • Private product management login: a restricted admin role (ACL) so nominated third-party staff can add and edit products and categories only
  • Go-live: domain and SSL, final data refresh, launch-day support and post-launch checks
  • Miscellaneous: small changes, help loading content and other items raised during the build

4. QA and project management · 4.2 days

  • Charged at 20% of the 21 delivery days in workstreams 1 to 3
  • Test plan and QA across desktop and mobile browsers, including checkout and ShipperHQ rates
  • Regression testing after fixes and before launch
  • Project management, weekly progress updates and UAT coordination with your team
Timeline

Go-live in week 6, or week 8 with extra feedback rounds.

From go-live, we host and maintain the store on a 30-day rolling package. Every package includes Magento security patches and upgrades, 24/7 uptime monitoring with critical security alerts, bug fixing, technical support and change requests. You can use the hours on any Develo service, including development, SEO, conversion optimisation and design.

Hosting is on managed Hypernode Magento hosting, billed monthly on top of the package. We will confirm the plan once catalogue size and expected traffic are known.

Assumptions and exclusions

The price and timeline rest on these assumptions.

Assumptions

  • You confirm which products belong in the lubricants store; data comes from the current website as CSV or spreadsheet exports
  • You supply accurate shipping dimensions and weights for every product
  • You hold your own ShipperHQ subscription and carrier accounts
  • The private product login is a restricted admin role for nominated third-party staff, with access to products and categories only
  • You provide feedback and UAT sign-off within two working days to hold the six to eight week timeline
  • All prices exclude VAT

Not included

  • Copywriting, new product photography and data cleansing beyond mapping
  • Integration with OGL, BearingNet or any ERP (orders and stock are managed in Magento)
  • Third-party licences and subscriptions, including ShipperHQ and hosting

Anything outside these assumptions is quoted separately at the same rate.

Thank you
